La Gigliola

La Gigliola winery nestled in the Chianti hills, in a medieval town by the name of Montespertoli, this estate covers about 300 hectares, of which 60 are vineyards and 40 with olive trees. The fine microclimate and unique soil characteristics surrounding the medieval town of Montespertoli, only 15 miles outside of Florence, makes it without a doubt the finest of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini appellation.
Its soils, moreover, seem to be responsible for the unusual resilience of the complementary Canaiolo, Sangiovese and Merlot varietals grown here, the quality of which contributes to its unerringly fine quality.
The Chianti from this estate is a remarkably fine, fruity and soft wine gifted with a notable bouquet, floral and berry-like, keeping the traditions and the unique characteristics of Tuscan wine making.
